Support emerging young historians such as Micah Carroll, who won Maryland History Day’s Women’s History Award for her research about Fannie Lou Hamer. Join us for a conversation between MWHC board member and Havre de Grace resident Amy Rosenkrans and Micah about her findings.

Fannie Lou Hamer was an American voting and women's rights activist, community organizer, and a leader in the civil rights movement.

The Maryland Women’s Heritage Center funds this prize. Proceeds for this presentation will fund the Women’s History Award in 2023. Maryland History Day is sponsored by Maryland Humanities.
